Charitable Products
No matter where you are in your philanthropic journey, the Jewish Community Foundation of Los Angeles offers a range of flexible, tax-efficient giving options designed to align with your values and maximize your impact. We partner with you to understand what matters most and translate your vision into a thoughtful, strategic approach to giving.
Donor Advised Fund (DAF)
A Donor Advised Fund (DAF) is a simple, flexible, and tax-efficient way to manage your charitable giving. You contribute assets, receive an immediate tax deduction, and recommend grants to the organizations you care about—on your timeline, with expert guidance every step of the way.
Endowments
An Endowment Fund creates lasting support for the causes you value most, providing reliable annual funding while establishing a meaningful legacy. You define the purpose of your fund, and we manage the investment and administration to ensure long-term growth and impact for generations to come.
Family Support Organization (FSO)
A Family Support Organization (FSO) is a separate public charity that offers the structure of a private foundation with the added support and efficiency of working with the Jewish Community Foundation of Los Angeles.
With its own tax ID and governing board, an FSO enables you to define your mission, guide grantmaking, and build a long-term philanthropic strategy, whether that means supporting a focused set of organizations, managing a higher volume of grants, or engaging multiple generations of your family in the process.
In certain situations, particularly when a distinct charitable entity, governance structure, or more formalized approach to grantmaking is desired, an FSO may be the right fit. Structured for charitable funds of $3 million or more, FSOs allow you to take an active role in overseeing your philanthropy while we handle administration, tax filings, compliance, and operational responsibilities.
Advantages of a Family Support Organization
