Established in 1906, the American Jewish Committee (AJC) is an international think tank and advocacy organization that focuses on early identification of trends and problems affecting American Jewry. Key areas of focus are combating anti-Semitism and all forms of bigotry; promoting pluralism and shared democratic values; supporting Israel's quest for peace and security; advocating for energy independence; and strengthening Jewish life. AJC's Los Angeles Chapter (AJC/LA) works to achieve a dynamic balance between public advocacy and private diplomacy through effective media campaigns and education.
Esencia de Judaismo, a course about Judaism for Latino Pastors, develops partnerships between the LA Jewish community and Latino Pastors, promotes collaboration on community projects, and changes negative stereotypes and misconceptions about Jews. 500 Pastors are engaged in learning about Judaism as a religion, culture and civilization through eight academic sessions in Spanish, trips to Israel, and Latino/Jewish partnerships that evolve through program participation.
