One of my clients with his own family foundation had traditionally made large donations to two charities, but wanted to provide funding to other worthwhile causes. He didn't have the slightest idea where to begin. I presented this problem to the Center for Designed Philanthropy. Their staff identified and vetted appropriate charitable organizations within my client's field of interest. They also presented the agencies to me in a way that allowed me to easily translate the information back to my client. This assistance was so effective that the client has decided to include representation from the Jewish Community Foundation on his foundation's board so the trustees can actively utilize the Center's expertise when my client is no longer able to guide them.
