BIO

The Foundation is a real community treasure – especially now that costs of forming and maintaining family foundations have escalated so dramatically.”

Selwyn Gerber is an economist, CPA, and investment advisor. He is a founding member and Chief Strategist of RVW Wealth LLC, wealth advisors primarily using a low cost ETF-based asset allocation model combined with secure bonds and select alternative investments. He is also the founder of Gerber & Co. Inc., a full-service CPA firm that focuses primarily on providing accounting, tax and wealth advisory services to affluent families and family businesses. The firm has a concentration in real estate taxation and intergenerational transition, and provides family office services to the affluent. Mr. Gerber serves as chair of The Foundation’s Israel Grants Committee. He is a Wexner Heritage fellow; and a founding member of the Academy for Jewish Religion, a post-denominational seminary training rabbis, cantors and chaplains.

After serving as a Board and Executive Committee member at Beth Jacob Congregation, Mr. Gerber remains an active member of the congregation. Together with Michael Medved and Rabbi Daniel Lapin, he and his wife co-founded the Pacific Jewish Center on the Venice boardwalk in 1977. He was a founding board member together with Neil and Pegi Young of the Bridge School, a nonprofit organization in the Bay Area that serves severely handicapped children by transitioning them from the sheltered, protective, remedial environment to a mainstream school.

He received his undergraduate and post-graduate degrees from the University of Cape Town in South Africa, and is a member of Omicron Delta Epsilon (the international economics honors society). He and his wife, Glynis, have four married children and thirteen grandchildren, and live in Beverlywood.
