ORGANIZATION DESCRIPTION

Founded in 1904, the Jewish Free Loan Association provides interest-free loans on a nonsectarian basis to needy individuals and families for emergencies, education, developing small businesses, health care, and life cycle events.

GRANT PURPOSE

Due to the pandemic, JFLA has been receiving a significantly higher number of applications for interest-free loans, which average $20,000, for struggling businesses and for launching new enterprises. This grant will help grow the loan fund and allow JFLA to continue making loans without reducing the amounts or turning applicants away.

Support from the Jewish Community Foundation of Los Angeles enables Jewish Free Loan Association to make 0% interest loans to small business owners across our city, giving them the funding they need to keep their businesses open and their employees working during the COVID-19 pandemic.
