ORGANIZATION DESCRIPTION

Founded in 1999, Educating for Excellence (E4E) strives to reduce socioeconomic inequality and foster social mobility by creating opportunities for youth from underprivileged backgrounds to excel in school, enter and succeed in higher education, and integrate into society in key positions in the employment market. E4E developed a long-term educational model as an after-school program within school facilities, providing 10 years of comprehensive academic support to participants.

GRANT PURPOSE

To mitigate the economic hardships faced by The Foundation’s grantees in Israel, resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic, and to help them achieve long-term organizational sustainability.

We are able to offer pre-academic courses to our students thanks to a generous grant from the Jewish Community Foundation of Los Angeles. Our pre-academic courses are an integral part of our organization's work, as they introduce students to future academic and employment fields. The pre-academic courses give students a strong jumpstart, helping open their minds to future possibilities at an early stage of their academic and professional paths. This jumpstart helps them overcome existing socioeconomic barriers to pursuing higher education and corresponding fields of employment.
