ORGANIZATION DESCRIPTION

Founded in 1963, Mexican American Opportunity Foundation (MAOF) is a state-wide family service organization working to improve socioeconomic conditions among California’s Latino community and preserve the values and heritage of Mexican American culture. Over the last four years, MAOF has expanded from an Information and Assistance site into a Multipurpose Senior Services Program agency, offering elderly individuals throughout LA holistic social services, case management, nutrition, and transportation assistance to help them remain self-sufficient. MAOF connects elderly Angelenos in the Eastside Service Area who face economic and language barriers with public benefits and specifically tailored resources to improve their financial wellbeing, prolong independent living, and avoid premature institutionalization.
