ORGANIZATION DESCRIPTION

Founded in 2009, the Joint Council of Pre-Military Leadership Academies (The Council) works to promote cooperation and define the vision and joint goals of each of the 46 Pre-Military Leadership Academies (Mechinot) serving 3,000 students each year. The Council assists in advancing the study and absorption of the following subject matters in all Mechinot: Zionism and Jewish identity; Jewish peoplehood; social leadership; service in the public and military sectors; acquaintance with the ultra-Orthodox; learning Israeli-Arab language and culture; and becoming familiar with special needs individuals. It also promotes engagement in community volunteer work and support of alumni. Â
