ORGANIZATION DESCRIPTION
Founded in 2002, JIMENA: Jews Indigenous to the Middle East and North Africa educates students and adults about the heritage and histories of the one million Jewish refugees from the Middle East and North Africa and their Mizrahi and Sephardic descendants. With staff in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle, and Washington D.C., JIMENA operates education, engagement, and leadership development initiatives for Sephardic and Mizrahi Jewish communities. Since 2020, JIMENA’s virtual and in-person programs have reached 300,000 individuals around the world annually, including 5,000 people from LA.

To advance staff wellbeing, talent development, and/or healthy, inclusive team culture
To launch the Sephardic Leaders Fellowship in LA that will train emerging leaders from Middle Eastern and North African descent to move into positions of professional and voluntary leadership roles in Jewish organizations. This program aims to empower leaders to advance inclusion of diverse Jewish cultures and communities across mainstream Jewish communal life in LA.
