ORGANIZATION DESCRIPTION

Founded in 2019 in Los Angeles, Jewtina works to nurture Latin-Jewish community, identity, leadership, and resiliency. Through its two flagship programs—PUENTES (bridges) Leadership Fellowship and VOCES (voices) Storytelling Project and Learning Workshops—community members are able to celebrate their multicultural identity, engage in culturally-responsive Jewish learning, build their Latin-Jewish network, and more confidently emerge as community leaders. Since Jewtina’s founding, it has graduated two national cohorts of its PUENTES Leadership Fellowship (a total of 24 individuals, including eight from Los Angeles), engaged 66 individuals in its VOCES Storytelling Project, and hosted four in-person events in Los Angeles, bringing 98 participants together.

To establish a Dedicated LA Presence by engaging hundreds of Latin-Jewish community members of all ages in leadership, community-building, and educational experiences. The program aims to inspire and empower Latin-Jews to embrace their multicultural identity, expand their Latin-Jewish network, and take on local leadership roles while simultaneously widening the LA Jewish community's understanding of the Latin-Jewish experience.
