This past year marked a historic milestone for The Foundation. Together with our clients, we proudly directed a record-breaking $207 million in grants to 3,320 organizations across Los Angeles, Israel, and around the world—the most ever in our history. This extraordinary achievement reflects the power of collective generosity and a shared commitment to building a better future.

Thanks to strong investment returns and the continued growth of our client base, we now steward $1.5 billion in charitable assets, placing The Foundation among the largest Jewish community foundations in the nation.

At the heart of this success is a deep dedication to our community. Our clients bring vision and passion for the causes they care about. The Foundation provides philanthropic expertise and deep knowledge to elevate their impact. Together, we help establish family legacies of giving, respond to urgent crises near and far, and build multi-generational relationships rooted in shared values.

We are profoundly grateful to you—our community—for entrusting The Foundation as your partner in philanthropy. Your commitment enables us to fulfill our mission: strengthening our community to better our world.

With gratitude,

Grantmaking in Focus

In this year’s report, we’re spotlighting grantmaking stories from 2025 to illustrate how the strategic decisions, partnerships, and investments made in 2024 are already bearing fruit. These stories reflect the momentum we built last year—and the transformative outcomes that followed.

Looking ahead: how 2024 set the stage for 2025 impact

Security for the Jewish Community

52 Jewish nonprofits across Los Angeles received special security grants. These grants were awarded through a collaboration between The Foundation, JFedLA and the Jewish Federations of North America’s 2025 Emergency Security Fund in partnership with the Tepper Foundation. The grants provide vital security personnel for Jewish institutions primarily serving children. These include 31 synagogues, 12 schools, four camps, and five community centers and other nonprofits.

Los Angeles Wildfires

The 2025 wildfires caused widespread devastation across Los Angeles, significantly impacting the Jewish community. In response The Foundation, together with our clients, contributed over $2.5 million to support those impacted by the wildfires. This included grants for direct relief to help congregants at 26 synagogues who lost homes and businesses. While these efforts are ongoing, the need for recovery and rebuilding remain substantial within the community.

Helping Israel heal and rebuild in the aftermath of October 7

Together, we are responding to urgent needs on the ground while remaining agile to meet emerging challenges. Since October 7, 2023 Foundation clients have awarded more than 1,100 grants totaling $10 million, including institutional grants, with a strong focus on mental health support, services for at-risk youth and advancing social cohesion. This collective effort reflects our shared commitment to long-term recovery and resilience for the people of Israel.

Emergency Needs Assistance

Established with seed funding from an anonymous client in 2022, The Foundation’s “Direct Hardship Relief” initiative provided trusted social service providers with funds to help their constituents address one-time critical needs that could not be met through existing resources. This initiative has continuously demonstrated strong impact and the dollars awarded have increased each year via investment from the seed funder and additional passionate clients.

Building for the Future

Endowments are a powerful tool for lasting impact. By creating an endowment at The Foundation, you provide a permanent source of funding that helps organizations plan confidently, weather economic shifts, and sustain vital programs for generations. Endowments reflect a deep commitment to mission and legacy—and when you entrust The Foundation to manage yours, you’re partnering with a team known for integrity, experience, and thoughtful stewardship of your philanthropic vision.
