BIO
I have been involved with The Foundation for 44 years. It is a critical component in our community in addressing community issues and needs in creative ways. I am proud to have been a past chair, and of my continued commitment to The Foundation’s work.
Allan B. Cutrow served as chair of the Jewish Community Foundation from 1985 to 1989. He first became involved with The Foundation as an Advisory Board member in 1978 and became a trustee in 1979. In addition, Mr. Cutrow has chaired its Development Committee. He is a partner in the law firm of Mitchell, Silberberg & Knupp, head of its Trusts and Estates Department, member of the Management Committee and is also the partner in charge of marketing the firm. His practice emphasizes estate planning, probate administration, exempt organizations and private foundations, charitable giving, and art law. He is a certified public accountant and a fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel. Mr. Cutrow has previously lectured for California Continuing Education of the Bar, at the USC Law School Tax Institute, Trust and Probate Forum and Program for Paraprofessionals at Golden Gate University’s Master of Business Taxation Program, and at the UCLA School of Law. Mr. Cutrow was the 2002 general chair of the United Jewish Fund Campaign, and is a past chair of the UJF Legal Division and Hillcrest Country Club UJF Campaign, and served as chair of the Jewish Federation’s Planning and Allocations Committee, and Budget and Finance Committee. Mr. Cutrow served as chair of Koreh L.A., the literacy program created by the Jewish Federation’s Community Relations Committee, and was also the Fundraising Committee chair for the competitive aquatic facility at UCLA. Mr. Cutrow received his bachelor’s degree as well as his law degree from UCLA and received a master’s degree in business taxation from the USC School of Business Administration.
