ORGANIZATION DESCRIPTION

Founded in 2011, theatre dybbuk is an arts and education organization and theater company that creates theatrical events based on Jewish folklore, rituals, and history. Its work is steeped in and based around arts, culture, education, and exploring the universal human experience from a Jewish perspective. It combines live performance with educational offerings to engage youth, young adults, and audiences of all ages.

GRANT PURPOSE

To create a new Jewish theatre company that combines live performance with educational offerings to creatively engage thousands of young adults, by bringing Jewish myths, prayers and texts to life.

The Foundation’s generous support will allow us to collaborate with a wide variety of theaters, art centers, synagogues, community programs and others to illuminate the universal human experience through Jewish history, folklore and rituals. We look forward to bringing innovative Jewish theatrical arts and education programs to people throughout Los Angeles.
