General Community Grants
Applications for General Community Grants are by invitation only. The 2022 process is now closed. Click here to read the press release about the grant recipients.
Serving the Los Angeles Community at large, General Community Grants reflect The Foundation's commitment to tikkun olam ("repairing the world"). Each year, we focus on a different high-priority concern in Los Angeles.
Prior focus areas include grants for:
- Older Adult Poverty
- Education Equity
- Addressing Homelessness
- Pathways Out of Poverty through Social Enterprise and Entrepreneurship
- Survivors of Human Trafficking
- Foster Youth
- Domestic and Sexual Violence Prevention and Support
- Early Childhood Development
In 2020, in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, The Foundation awarded grants that addressed emergency basic needs including grants to provide food to thousands of people who had just lost their jobs and were suddenly without income, to help house and protect those experiencing homelessness, PPE and support for hospitals and senior centers, and direct financial aid and service to low-income families. Although we do not accept unsolicited applications for General Community Grants, we welcome the opportunity to learn about nonprofits serving the Los Angeles community. Please feel free to send materials about your organization electronically to Warren Fong, Senior Program Officer, at email@example.com.
