As we transition into a more digital and future-focused organization and turn a new brand strategy into business activation, we seek a dynamic Marketing Director to lead our marketing efforts – on and offline.
Position Overview: The Marketing Director will play a critical role in shaping and executing our marketing strategy during this time of transformation. This leader will be responsible for bridging the gap between traditional marketing methods and the innovative digital approaches needed to drive our mission forward. The ideal candidate is a visionary marketer with a strong understanding of digital tools, including AI, and is comfortable leading a team while managing both internal and external resources.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement a comprehensive marketing strategy that aligns with The Foundation’s mission and goals, focusing on digital innovation and community engagement.
- Team Management: Lead the strategy and (if applicable) growth of the marketing team, including managing relationships with contractors and vendors.
- Digital Transformation: Drive the transition to a more digital-first approach, leveraging AI and other cutting-edge technologies to enhance marketing efficiency and impact.
- Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including the executive team, development team, and Center for Designed Philanthropy to ensure marketing efforts are aligned with organizational objectives.
- Brand Management: Oversee the development and consistency of The Foundation’s evolved brand across all channels, ensuring a cohesive and compelling message to all stakeholders.
- Content Creation & Management: Oversee the creation of engaging content that resonates with our diverse audiences, ensuring it is distributed effectively across digital and traditional channels.
- Data-Driven Marketing: Develop, implement, and maintain an approach to tracking what’s working (or not) – driving us to measure and optimize marketing strategies.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Develop and maintain relationships with key community stakeholders, partners, and media outlets to amplify The Foundation’s impact.
- Innovation & Trends: Stay abreast of the latest marketing trends and technologies, especially in the nonprofit sector, and integrate them into The Foundation’s marketing practices.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field. A master’s degree is a plus.
- 7+ years of experience in marketing. At least 3 years managing team(s), directly or indirectly.
- Proven track record in digital marketing and experience leveraging AI or similar technologies to enhance marketing efforts.
- Strong understanding of the nonprofit sector, with experience working with foundations or investment banks who handle donor-advised funds (DAFs) a significant advantage.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to delegate effectively and manage both in-house and contract resources.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across various departments and with external partners.
- Strategic thinker with a hands-on approach to problem-solving and execution.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret qualitative and quantitative data and make informed decisions.
- Passion for philanthropy and a deep commitment to The Foundation’s mission.

Salary: $110,000 — $150,000 depending on skill sets, years of experience, training, certifications, and degrees earned. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range unless they exceed most of the job qualifications.
