ORGANIZATION DESCRIPTION

Established in 1947, Temple Isaiah is a Reform community located on the West Side of Los Angeles. It is committed to the pursuit of justice, Jewish learning, and ritual. It operates a preschool and religious school.

GRANT PURPOSE

To support professional development, leadership development, and staff wellness strategies responding to the impacts of COVID-19 on synagogue clergy, staff, and lay leadership.

Temple Isaiah is committed to building a home at the intersection of tradition and innovation. To achieve our goals of multi-access worship, education, community outreach, and social justice (now and into the future), we are building a Center for Digital Outreach and Engagement which will include a fulltime staff member to curate and produce content on behalf of our staff. This will immediately lighten the load for any staff member who was carrying their own work as well as learning Zoom, video editing, sound production, podcasting, etc. Additionally, after 18 months of running a marathon, our beloved staff are learning to come back to work, to minister to an exhausted congregation, and discovering together what it means to provide a home for our members as we continue to move through the pandemic. The Reimagine Grant from the Jewish Community Foundation of Los Angeles provides us with the opportunity to move forward in addressing this commitment and we are extremely grateful.
