ORGANIZATION DESCRIPTION

Established in 1965, Temple Ahavat Shalom is a Reform temple based in Northridge. Its mission is to enrich and sanctify relationships (Kehilah Kedoshah), explore connections with the Divine (Brit), celebrate Jewish life and Torah (Talmud and Torah), and be a force for healing and justice in the world (Tikkun Olam). It operates a religious school.

GRANT PURPOSE

To support professional development, leadership development, and staff wellness strategies responding to the impacts of COVID-19 on synagogue clergy, staff, and lay leadership.

Temple Ahavat Shalom is grateful to the Jewish Community Foundation of Los Angeles for giving us the means to infuse diversity, equity, and inclusion into our congregation’s DNA, namely its operations, membership, education, and community efforts. With the aid of The Foundation’s generous grant, our community will come together in this work and use it as a catalyst for healing and strength.
