ORGANIZATION DESCRIPTION
Silverlake Independent Jewish Community Center is one of the few Jewish organizations to create community and an access point for young Jewish families and professionals living on the east side of LA. During the pandemic, in addition to shifting its early education programs online, it began hosting weekly food pickups for the neighborhood and a program of virtual check-ins between young adults and seniors to combat social isolation.
GRANT PURPOSE
To mitigate the economic hardship resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic and to help them achieve long-term organizational sustainability.
