ORGANIZATION DESCRIPTION

Originally established in 1950 as the Hollywood-Los Feliz Jewish Community Center, the agency was renamed the Silverlake Independent Jewish Community Center (SIJCC) in 2002. SIJCC operates a multicultural and pluralistic nursery and kindergarten school, which promotes Jewish literacy and culture. SIJCC also provides weekly ‘parent and me’ classes, a Shabbat program, concerts, ballet, yoga, basketball, and fitness classes.

GRANT PURPOSE

The Early Childhood Learning Center will convert an underutilized boardroom and office into an Early Childhood Learning Center.

We appreciate The Foundation's assistance with the renovation, as it will allow us to expand our infant and parent education programs.
