ORGANIZATION DESCRIPTION

Pico Union Project brings together different faiths and communities through its multi-faith cultural arts programming. Located in the diverse Pico Union neighborhood at one of Los Angeles’ oldest temples, it provides spiritual, arts & culture, volunteering and community programming for the LA Jewish community including the growing community living in Downtown Los Angeles. At the beginning of the pandemic, it pivoted its work to become an emergency assistance hub providing food to thousands of people each week.

GRANT PURPOSE

To mitigate the economic hardship resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic and to help them achieve long-term organizational sustainability.

This grant from the Jewish Community Foundation will allow the Pico Union Project to expand its virtual programming in order to reach a larger, more geographically diverse community across not only the United States but across the world.  We are honored to be able to communicate directly with and inspire the Jewish Community in new and creative ways.
