ORGANIZATION DESCRIPTION

Founded in 1968 as the Sephardic Hebrew Academy, Maimonides Academy is a Modern Orthodox day school in West Los Angeles. While many Sephardic customs are still followed, the school is now predominantly Ashkenazi. Maimonides is fully accredited by the BJE, California Association of Independent Schools, Western Association of Schools and Colleges and the Educational Records Bureau. It has 520 students in preschool through 8^th grade.

GRANT PURPOSE

The Building Campaign project will construct a new school building that will accommodate 620 students in preschool through 8th grade.

The recognition by the Jewish Community Foundation of the importance of our building project helps validate the important role that Maimonides Academy plays in the Jewish education of our children.
