ORGANIZATION DESCRIPTION

Founded in 2003, Machshava Tova (MT) views the “digital divide” as a unique opportunity to offer underprivileged populations access to technology in a supportive and empowering environment. It provides opportunities for technological training while creating new pathways in employment, working to increase social inclusion and minimize social gaps in Israel. These programs are implemented at MT’s 10 technological centers across Israel and through its Mobile Technology Units, which bring classes to remote areas of Israel.

GRANT PURPOSE

To mitigate the economic hardships faced by The Foundation’s grantees in Israel, resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic, and to help them achieve long-term organizational sustainability.

Thanks to the generous support of The Foundation, Machshava Tova will help put the spark back into learning through technology. Long hours of online study have turned many children and youth off to technology. Machshava Tova's newly-developed workshops and activities have engaged children in learning new skills, and allowed them to have fun again, using technology as a learning tool. In addition, the gift will enable us to help those without digital skills – who were originally cut off and isolated - to have some sense of normalcy throughout a very uncertain reality.
