ORGANIZATION DESCRIPTION

Founded in 1912, LAJH is one of the largest single-source providers of senior care in the Los Angeles area, serving more than 5,000 seniors annually. Its mission is to provide excellence in senior care reflective of Jewish values.

GRANT PURPOSE

During the pandemic, LAJH has shifted its services for its 1,200 residents, 2,700 in-home clients, and 1,600 staff, to ensure appropriate safety and security measures. To that end, it has launched a COVID Emergency Relief Fund to support both COVID-related expenses and its budget shortfall due to canceled events and fundraisers. It is for personal protective equipment, medical equipment, supplies, environmental services, major equipment, technology, quarantine rooms, maintenance items, dietary and pharmacy needs. It is also for increased staffing needs including specialists, security, IT support, home visitors, transportation, and waste support.
