ORGANIZATION DESCRIPTION

Founded in 2008, Jumpstart Labs is a philanthropic research and design lab that offers a unique combination of original research, crafted convenings, strategic thinking, and direct support to philanthropists and institutional leaders. Its mission is to develop, strengthen, and learn from emerging nonprofit organizations that build community at the nexus of spirituality, learning, social activism, and culture to transform the broader Jewish community.

GRANT PURPOSE

Jewish Jumpstart L..A. provides fiscal sponsorship, capacity building, technical assistance and peer learning to Jewish start-ups and newly established Jewish nonprofit organizations to increase their sustainability and establish L.A. as a center of Jewish innovation.

The Foundation has helped launch some of the most creative new projects the Los Angeles community has seen over the past number of years.  Its investment in Jumpstart is about more than providing financial resources–it’s about sharing ideas, connecting people, and creating networks of social entrepreneurs and activists to grow Jewish innovation in Los Angeles.  We hope that Jumpstart L.A. will help leverage The Foundation’s prior investments and other new projects to benefit the community as a whole.
