ORGANIZATION DESCRIPTION

Jewish Graduate Student Initiative is the only organization of its kind serving Jewish graduate students across Los Angeles’ major public and private institutions, including many law and medical programs, which may not have a local Hillel. While graduate students cannot meet in person, demand for JGSI’s programs have doubled and it has used this opportunity to reach more students through new and expanded online programs.

GRANT PURPOSE

To mitigate the economic hardship resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic and to help them achieve long-term organizational sustainability.

Thanks to The Foundation's incredible generosity, JGSI will be able to continue tending to the professional, social, and spiritual needs of our thousands of Jewish graduate students throughout greater LA during this challenging period--providing them with connection, community, and hope.
