ORGANIZATION DESCRIPTION

Founded in 1911 and based on Jewish values, The Jewish Federation of Greater Los Angeles convenes and leads the community and leverages its resources to assure the continuity of the Jewish people, support a secure State of Israel, care for Jews in need here and abroad, and mobilize on issues of concern to the local community, all with its local, national, and international partners.

GRANT PURPOSE

The NextGen Engagement Initiative provides a central organizing resource and web portal for Jewish organizations serving young Jewish adults in Los Angeles in order to connect the innovative, energetic young leaders of these organizations and promote increased collaboration toward the common goal of greater participation in Jewish life.

Both the Jewish Federation and The Foundation recognize the imperative to effectively engage the next generation in the Jewish community on a large scale. By coordinating and publicizing programming, researching and sharing best practices, mentoring leadership and funding new organizations, NextGen will enable young community leaders to build the organizations and programs they want for themselves.
