ORGANIZATION DESCRIPTION

Founded in 1911 and based on Jewish values, The Jewish Federation of Greater Los Angeles convenes and leads the community and leverages its resources to assure the continuity of the Jewish people, support a secure State of Israel, care for Jews in need here and abroad, and mobilize on issues of concern to the local community, all with its local, national, and international partners.

GRANT PURPOSE

The PJ Library Los Angeles Community sends Jewish-content children's books and music to families' homes on a monthly basis to help unaffiliated or intermarried Jewish families with young children connect with their Jewish identity, one another and with the greater Jewish community.

We deeply appreciate The Foundation’s validation of the work we are doing. We underwent a rigorous process, which gave us an opportunity to take a good look at our organization. We are grateful to The Foundation for helping us to launch this throughout the Greater Los Angeles area.

Carol Koransky
Executive Vice President, Jewish Federation of Greater Los Angeles
