ORGANIZATION DESCRIPTION

Founded in 1940, Hillel at UCLA is a home away from home, at UCLA, for all Jewish students to build their identities through Jewish life, learning, culture, and leadership opportunities. It is the center of Jewish life on campus, creating meaningful Jewish experiences and opportunities for students to embrace Judaism – now and for a lifetime. It reaches roughly 1,800 of the 3,000 Jewish students at UCLA, more than 3,000 non-student community members, and empowers 110 student leaders.

GRANT PURPOSE

To scale and formalize an initiative that will integrate mental health support and wellness into all of its programming. The program aims to increase access to mental health services, decrease mental health crises among Jewish students, and increase staff and organizational wellness.

As we prepare to welcome thousands of new students to campus for the first time, we are grateful to The Foundation for generously supporting the holistic mental health of Jewish Bruins. These grant-funded programs, trainings, and outreach will help us to continue to adapt to the emerging needs of students during the COVID era. Together we're building essential wellness practices that students will reference for the rest of their lives.
