ORGANIZATION DESCRIPTION

Founded in 2008, The Braid (formerly Jewish Women’s Theatre) works to create new, relevant, and personal Jewish content performed in unconventional and changing locations. It presents unique “salon style” theatrical experiences resulting in an

GRANT PURPOSE

To launch a new post-performance diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) curriculum for its show “True Colors.” The program aims to provide a safe and meaningful space to address racism and advance DEI in the Jewish community.

The Braid is excited to elevate True Colors, our dramatic presentation sharing the true stories of Jews of Color, by pairing it with a dynamic new companion curriculum. It’s a move made possible through the visionary and generous support of the Jewish Community Foundation of Los Angeles, and we are incredibly grateful for their help to build a more welcoming and inclusive Jewish world.
