2024 General Operating Support Grants

Founded in 1976, Facing History and Ourselves (FH) uses lessons of history to challenge teachers and their students to stand up to bigotry and hate. Through its professional development training, and in-class educational resources, FH equips middle and high school educators to teach classroom units that integrate social-emotional learning and civic knowledge into core academic content. By studying the root causes of the Holocaust and other historical events marked by antisemitism, racism, and intolerance, students gain an understanding of how the past informs the world today. FH Southern California (FH LA) was founded in 1994 and includes over 17,000 educators in more than 2,100 public, charter, independent, and religious schools across Southern California.
