ORGANIZATION DESCRIPTION
Founded in 2016, Village for Vets fills critical gaps in key services for unhoused and at-risk veterans in Los Angeles, supporting them on their journey to stability and independence. Each year it serves more than 2,000 individuals and families through weekly food box deliveries; twice-annual mobile dental clinics; short-term financial assistance to address emergencies; a case management division that provides access to photo IDs, move-in kits, sleeping bags, housing navigation, and referrals to outside services; and supportive services to prevent homelessness and/or re-house clients. All of these programs are housed on the VA campus or in association with programs and people who can help veterans enroll in additional services.
GRANT PURPOSE
To provide one-time direct hardship relief that will help stabilize individuals and families during a time of crisis or need, substantially improving their self-sufficiency and quality of life.
