ORGANIZATION DESCRIPTION

Founded in 1965, Watts Labor Community Action Committee (WLCAC) provides high quality services and essential resources to Watts, including employment, home repair, homelessness, family, senior, and youth services. WLCAC operates five multipurpose senior centers and a FamilySource Center, which assist clients with obtaining housing, employment, financial literacy, youth enrichment and tutoring, free tax preparation services, vaccination assistance, food, immigration services, legal assistance, mental health services, expungement, post-secondary education, emergency assistance and case management services. WLCAC serves tens of thousands of people annually across all of its programs.

GRANT PURPOSE

To provide one-time direct hardship relief that will help stabilize individuals and families during a time of crisis or need, substantially improving their self-sufficiency and quality of life.
