ORGANIZATION DESCRIPTION
Founded in 1854, Jewish Family Service of Los Angles (JFSLA) provides life-improving services that help the people of Los Angeles live with dignity and exercise self-determination. Throughout its history, JFSLA has adapted to meet the ever-changing needs of the local community, expanding its services to include housing and homelessness services, providing shelter to domestic abuse survivors and their children, operating food pantries and providing home-delivered and congregate meals for seniors, mental health services, and programs to meet the needs of the rapidly growing population of older adults, including services specifically for survivors of the Holocaust. JFSLA serves tens of thousands of people every year.
GRANT PURPOSE
To provide one-time direct hardship relief that will help stabilize individuals and families during a time of crisis or need, substantially improving their self-sufficiency and quality of life.
