ORGANIZATION DESCRIPTION
Founded in 1989, Heart of Los Angeles Youth, Inc. (HOLA) helps youth overcome barriers through exceptional, free, integrated afterschool programs and personal guidance in a trusted nurturing environment. Serving Westlake, South Central LA, Watts and Koreatown, HOLA offers a robust array of programs including a first-grade through postsecondary academic pipeline, visual and scientific arts programs, music education, athletics, and holistic family wellness services. It reaches more than 3,000 students ages 6 – 24 annually and boasts a High School graduation rate upwards of 97%.
GRANT PURPOSE
To provide one-time direct hardship relief that will help stabilize individuals and families during a time of crisis or need, substantially improving their self-sufficiency and quality of life.
