ORGANIZATION DESCRIPTION

Established in 1988, the Therapeutic Riding and Canine Institute (TRCI) is the leading center for therapeutic horse riding and dog therapy treatment in Israel, and one of the few not-for-profit centers of its kind. Animal therapy is a type of therapeutic service that can support people with certain mental and physical challenges, providing companionship, socialization, and learning opportunities. TRCI’s services are provided for populations with special needs, including children and adults with complex physical, intellectual, and learning disabilities; youth at risk (e.g. youth living in care homes or juvenile rehabilitation facilities); wounded IDF soldiers, either physically or those suffering from PTSD; and families experiencing domestic violence. In addition to its therapeutic services, it offers job training for graduates who want to find work in this field.
