ORGANIZATION DESCRIPTION

Founded in 2010, Shishi Shabbat Yisraeli (Israeli Weekend) is a nationwide educational and social initiative for Russian-speaking Israelis ages 20-38. It aims to create a vibrant, supportive nationwide network of Russian-speaking Israelis, who engage in activities that enhance their Jewish and Israeli identity, promote integration and volunteerism, and deepen connections to Jewish peoplehood. It achieves this by offering Shabbat retreats, excursions, study evenings, cultural events, volunteer opportunities, holiday celebrations, and leadership development activities, which help this population thrive in their new home.

To support Israeli Weekend's work integrating Russian-speaking Olim into Jewish and Israeli culture. Through Shabbat retreats, holiday celebrations, volunteer initiatives and cultural activities, young Russian-speaking Israelis will build essential Jewish knowledge and community and deepen their new Jewish-Israeli identity.
