ORGANIZATION DESCRIPTION
Founded in 1951, Shalom Institute: Camp and Conference Center (Shalom Institute) is a premier center for year-round experiential Jewish education, community engagement, and retreats. Its initiatives nurture community, inclusion, leadership, conscious social action and environmental responsibility, and life-long connection to Jewish tradition and culture. Shalom Institute engages thousands of Jewish Angelenos each year through programs including Camp JCA Shalom overnight and day camps; Camp Gesher for Russian-speaking families; Jewish Outdoor Farming/Food Environmental Education (JOFEE); employment opportunities for adults with disabilities at Shemesh Farms; and educational, social justice, and retreat experiences for families, schools, synagogues, and community organizations.
