ORGANIZATION DESCRIPTION

Founded in 1994, the Los Angeles Jewish Symphony (LAJS) performs the orchestral works of Jewish composers, establishes opportunities for the presentation of new compositions by Jewish artists, serves as a professional resource for aspiring Jewish musicians, and provides educational opportunities for children. It holds free family-oriented events and public concerts as well as conducts an educational outreach program, which works with hundreds of grade-school students. LAJS has performed throughout Southern California at venues including the Walt Disney Concert Hall, The Ford Theatres, UCLA Royce Hall, and Gindi Auditorium at American Jewish University.
