Jenesse Center
ORGANIZATION DESCRIPTION
Founded in 1980, the Jenesse Center works to provide families who are victims of domestic violence with a comprehensive, centralized base of support that is culturally responsive to low income African American women and women of color. Its services ensure victims transition from immediate crisis to stability and self-sufficiency. It seeks to prevent and end the cycle of domestic violence through youth programming, education, public awareness and outreach initiatives. Its intervention services include emergency and transitional housing, mental health services, and vocational training and support services.

To provide one-time direct hardship relief that will help stabilize individuals and families during a time of crisis or need, substantially improving their self-sufficiency and quality of life.
The Domestic Violence Legal Services Program provides free legal assistance and support to domestic violence victims participating in Jenesse’s shelter, transitional housing, mental health, and vocational program.
