CHAYA

Founded in 2018, CHAYA is a Los Angeles-based nonprofit that works to empower the Jewish Iranian community, with a focus on Jewish Iranian women; cultivate meaningful connection; challenge stereotypes; and instill compassion, courage, and open-mindedness within this community. CHAYA engages educators, counselors, coaches, and healers to facilitate monthly community events in Los Angeles that bring Iranian Jews together in dialogue around topics such as self-expression, leadership, and modernizing traditions. CHAYA also has a podcast that provides a platform for Jewish Iranian changemakers to challenge community norms surrounding taboo issues like addiction, fertility, and sexual health, and inspire listeners to lead a more fulfilling and authentic life.
