|Field of Interest:||Jewish Continuity|
The Israeli American Council’s (IAC) mission is to “build an active, giving Israeli-American community in order to strengthen the State of Israel, instill a sense of responsibility in our next generation, and strengthen ties between the Israeli-American community and the American-Jewish community. Programs offered include: (1) BINA, a young leadership community highlighting educational and social events for members ages 25-45; (2) Shlichim and Shagririm, a year-long college campus initiative at UCLA, USC and other universities that trains students to conduct outreach about Israel; (3) Tzofim, which enrolls more than 300 children in the Israeli Scouts; and (4) other Israeli cultural events/programs.
The I.A. Care program provides an online database that engages 10,000 LA Jewish and Israeli-Americans in volunteerism and matches them with Jewish as well as non-Jewish community organizations in need of support. Volunteers commit to a minimum of 4 volunteer hours and receive rewards and incentives for their participation. Rewards include a membership card, store discounts, a social networking platform for volunteers, and free tickets to I.A. Care concerts annually. *Not Currently Active
