Heidi Monkarsh

I truly believe in the teaching, ‘As my parents planted for me, so do I plant for my children.’  The Foundation lives up to this ideal as well, dedicated to building and strengthening our Jewish community for future generations. I am proud to be part of The Foundation’s board and join in furthering their important mission.

Heidi Monkarsh is serving as vice chair of the Board of the Jewish Federation of Greater Los Angeles and chairs the Birth Through High School Strategic Initiative. She also sits on the Federation’s Strategic Planning and Distribution Committee, Campaign Cabinet and Executive Committee. Heidi is past chair of Sylvia Weisz Women’s Philanthropy, Ensuring the Jewish Future and Young Adult Engagement and Leadership Development. Heidi is on the National Women’s Philanthropy Board and recently co-chaired the International Lion of Judah Conference. She is also a member of the Board of Jewish Federations of North America. She is on the Academic Affairs Committee at American Jewish University and in leadership roles at Cedars-Sinai and the Cayton Children’s Museum. She is a past member of National Young Leadership Cabinet, Sinai Temple Board, Camp Ramah Board, and Brentwood School. Heidi graduated from UCLA with a degree in fine arts. She and her husband Jon have two children and one grandson. Heidi is honored to rejoin The Foundation’s Board of Trustees and continue the important work of building and sustaining a strong Jewish community for future generations.
