BIO

I’ve spent many years advising families, private foundations, and nonprofits on their finances, including their philanthropy. Foundation donors are a pleasure to work with and I enjoy using my significant experience in tax law, accounting, and estate planning to help them realize their charitable giving goals.

Ellen Rosen joined The Foundation in 2017 to oversee all legal and compliance matters. She also handles complex transactions and works closely with The Foundation’s Development team, our donors, and their advisors. Prior to joining The Foundation, Ms. Rosen was a Tax Partner and Consultant at CohnReznick, a national accounting firm, providing advisory services to clients in the areas of estate planning, taxation, and the formation of private foundations and other nonprofits. She also served as Senior Attorney in the trust and estate practice group at Sheppard, Mullin, Richter & Hampton for seven years, and Tax Manager at Ernst & Young for four years. Ms. Rosen received her bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Southern California, and a master’s of business administration from Pepperdine University. She is a member of the Women Lawyers Association of Los Angeles.
