Event Summary:
Rabbi Sharon Brous was the keynote speaker at a recent Jewish Community Foundation of Los Angeles event that celebrated non-profit leadership in our community.
Last year, The Foundation selected Rabbi Brous as its first Inspired Leadership Award recipient for her pioneering work with IKAR, a vibrant Jewish spiritual community in Los Angeles dedicated to the integration of spiritual and religious practice and the pursuit of social justice. The award carries a $100,000 Donor Advised Fund for Rabbi Brous to use to support nonprofit local programs to strengthen and support her vision for the Los Angeles Jewish community.
The celebration also honored recipients of our Cutting Edge Grants Initiative, which provides seed funding and support for innovative efforts that are transforming the greater Los Angeles Jewish community. Since its inception in 2006, this grants initiative has provided nearly $4.5 million to more than 25 programs.
