|Field of Interest:||Jewish Continuity - Connecting Individuals to Judaism|
Founded in 1911, the Jewish Federation of Greater Los Angeles (the Jewish Federation) identifies and funds a broad range of Jewish social service, educational and humanitarian programs. It works to foster a sense of common Jewish purpose; strengthen Jewish constituencies to enhance Jewish identity; meet critical human needs in a Jewish context; and strengthen bonds with Jewish people worldwide. Its 3 strategic initiatives are 1) Ensuring the Jewish Future, 2) Caring for Jews in Need, and 3) Engaging in our Community
The Jewish Teen Engagement Initiative will work to attract 2,000 - 3,000 Jewish teens to meaningful Jewish experiences through increased awareness of appealing opportunities, enhanced collaboration among community stakeholders, and leveraging of communal resources for the benefit of the community as a whole. To achieve this, the Jewish Federation will create a web-based platform through which teens and parents can access information about available opportunities. It will also offer trainings for professionals and create innovative programming for teens.
