30 Years After was founded in 2007 by a group of three-dozen Iranian Jewish young professionals thirty years after the Islamic Revolution to educate the Iranian American Jewish community on important political issues and promote their participation and leadership in American political, civic and Jewish life.
The Iranian-Jewish Community at a Crossroads program aims to inspire in the next generation of Iranian-American leaders a commitment to Israel, social justice, and political action through educational events, student mentoring, and increased voter registration. It convenes a community-wide conference for more than 1,200 Los Angeles-area Iranian-Jews; hosts quarterly educational events; archives written and videotaped accounts of the challenges and contributions of the Iranian Jewish community; and conducts voter registration drives. In partnership with Jewish Big Brothers Big Sisters and Nessah Israel Synagogue, it encourages community service by offering a mentoring program that matches high school students with young professionals.
