JDub Music, Inc. was founded in 2002 by two NYU students to produce and disseminate new and innovative Jewish music and re-engage young Jews in Jewish culture across religious, ethnic, and cultural boundaries. Working with artists who represent proud, authentic Jewish voices in popular culture, JDub provides young Jews with positive role models and events that help to strengthen their Jewish identity. Its CDs have reached approximately 1.2 million people in the U.S.
JDub-LA brings a successful pilot music program from New York to the Los Angeles Jewish community, producing approximately five musical events each year and identifying and developing new local Jewish musicians. It utilizes grassroots organizing and marketing techniques to build its brand and connect with hundreds of young Jews at each event, which are located in secular spaces in Santa Monica, Silverlake, Hollywood, Pico/Robertson and Downtown L.A.
