Beit T'Shuvah (BTS) was founded in 1987 as an outgrowth of the Jewish Committee for Personal Service (JCPS). It has evolved into a faith-based recovery/rehabilitation program serving 120 residents at any one time for a minimum of 6 months whose mission is “to restore lost souls and return them to themselves, their families and their communities.” The BTS model is a combination of psychotherapy, the 12 steps of the Alcoholics Anonymous Program, spiritual activities rooted in the study of Torah, creative arts expression, vocational counseling, social/recreational activities, and various forms of therapy.
BTS Communications enables 50 BTSC interns to participate in a year-long vocational training program which places them in upwardly mobile careers in areas such as graphic and web design, online advertising, and social media marketing with salaries starting at $50,000. In addition, the interns provide 30 local Jewish nonprofit agencies/ synagogues with customized marketing/communications services at half of the average market rate to help them revitalize their websites and marketing campaigns, engage members, and attract donors.
