ORGANIZATION DESCRIPTION

Founded in 1911 and based on Jewish values, The Jewish Federation of Greater Los Angeles convenes and leads the community and leverages its resources to assure the continuity of the Jewish people, support a secure State of Israel, care for Jews in need here and abroad, and mobilize on issues of concern to the local community, all with its local, national, and international partners.

GRANT PURPOSE

The Jewish Community Summer Overnight Camp Support Initiative increases enrollment in Jewish residential summer camps and reduce the number of empty camp beds.

The Foundation for Jewish Camping approaches the industry of Jewish summer camp with an entrepreneurial and business-like style, making camps more attractive, compelling and competitive to Jewish families. Our messaging and customer service are guided by careful examination of market research results and field-wide trends. Our approach dovetailed nicely with the Jewish Community Foundation's rigorous and professional grant process.
