Vice President, Center for Designed Philanthropy

Amelia Xann joined The Foundation in 2000 and oversees all program initiatives of the Center for Designed Philanthropy as well as The Foundation's grant programs. Ms. Xann serves as a philanthropic advisor to donors and family foundations on a range of issues including intergenerational philanthropy, strategic giving and leaving a legacy. Amelia Xann’s entire career has been focused in the nonprofit sector, specifically in the area of designing and launching new programs and organizations in education and the arts. Prior to joining The Foundation, Ms. Xann served as associate director of performing arts and was part of the team responsible for opening California Center for the Arts, Escondido; was the education program manager for the Los Angeles Philharmonic Association; and provided consulting services to school districts throughout San Diego County. She has served as adjunct faculty at the University of San Diego/Old Globe Theatre and Mira Costa College. Ms. Xann is a member of Grantmakers in the Arts and Southern California Grantmakers. She received her bachelor's degree from McGill University, and holds a Master of Arts from Lesley College, Cambridge, Massachusetts, and a Master of Education from Goddard College, Plainfield, Vermont.
